Tamenuri

Tamenuri is a technique where transparent urushi is layered over a colour urushi base. Because of the transluscency of the top layers, this creates a unique depth to the finished product.

The tamenuri finish will lighten and allow more of the underlying colour to show through, changing it’s appearance over time.
